Access Control
Businesses often need locksmith service because access has changed, not because the lock is broken. An employee may leave, a key may be lost, or management may no longer know how many copies are in circulation.
If the existing locks are compatible and in good condition, rekeying may allow you to change which keys operate the doors without replacing all of the hardware.
A key fob that stops working does not necessarily need replacement. A weak battery, damaged remote, programming issue or another vehicle problem can create different symptoms. Tell me exactly what the key or fob is and is not doing.

I may be able to generate, cut and program a replacement for many vehicles.

You may only need vehicle lockout service, not a replacement key.

Still have one working key? This may be a good time to make a spare or duplicate.

The cause may be the battery,
remote, programming, key,
ignition or another vehicle issue.
Rekeying
Rekeying changes the internal key combination of a compatible lock so the previous key no longer works. It can be useful after an employee change, lost key, tenant turnover or any situation where key control is uncertain.
I check the lock brand, keyway and condition before confirming whether rekeying is appropriate. If the hardware is worn or incompatible, replacement may be the better option.
For properties with several doors, I can also look at whether the existing hardware supports the keying arrangement you want.

Business Lockout
If you cannot access your office, store or commercial property, call and tell me what type of door and lock you are dealing with.
I evaluate the hardware before deciding the appropriate way to regain access. A business lockout does not automatically mean the lock has to be drilled or replaced.
Identification and appropriate proof that you are authorized to access the business property may be required before service.
Storefront Hardware
Many retail and commercial storefront doors use hardware that is different from a typical residential door. The lock, cylinder, latch, door material and existing hardware all affect what service is appropriate.
I can evaluate common storefront lock problems, rekey compatible cylinders, replace suitable hardware and address selected commercial door-lock issues depending on the existing setup.
A photo of the door and lock before the appointment can help identify the hardware involved.

Lock Replacement
Commercial locks can wear out, become damaged or stop working reliably after heavy use. Replacement may also be appropriate when the current hardware no longer fits the property's access needs.
I inspect the existing lock, door preparation and hardware before recommending a replacement. The new hardware has to be compatible with the door and the way the opening is used.
If the lock is still in good condition and the only goal is to change the key, rekeying may be the simpler option.
Key Management
A master key system can allow different keys to open different groups of doors while one authorized key can operate a broader set of locks.
Whether an existing property can be set up this way depends on the lock brands, keyways, cylinders and compatibility of the hardware already installed. I can review the doors and access needs first and explain what is practical for the property.
Illustrative example only. Actual key codes, bitting information and customer system details are never published.
Exit Hardware
Some commercial doors use panic bars or exit devices that allow the door to be opened from the inside by pushing the hardware.
I can service selected panic hardware and related commercial door components depending on the device and condition of the door.
Because building, fire and accessibility requirements can vary by property and use, I do not make code-compliance claims without evaluating the specific installation and applicable requirements.

Door Hardware
A door closer helps control how a commercial door closes. When a closer is leaking, slamming, failing to close the door or no longer operating correctly, the issue should be evaluated before hardware is replaced.
I can inspect selected commercial door closer problems and determine whether adjustment, hardware service or replacement appears appropriate.
Door alignment, hinges and other components can also affect how the door operates.
Property Management
I work with authorized property managers, landlords and business owners who need lock service at offices, retail units and other commercial spaces within my service area.
Common requests include tenant-turnover rekeying, lock replacement, access changes, storefront lock service, business lockouts and commercial door hardware.
For occupied or managed properties, I may request confirmation that the person ordering the work is authorized to make access or lock changes.

Full Service List
Service depends on the door, lock, hardware and access requirements of the property.
Before The Appointment
Office, retail store, warehouse, managed commercial unit or another business property.
A clear photo can help identify storefront, cylinder, panic hardware or other commercial components.
Lockout, lost key, employee change, tenant turnover, damaged lock or hardware issue.
Identification and appropriate business or property authorization may be required before access or lock changes.
Pricing
Commercial locksmith jobs can vary substantially because commercial doors and hardware are not all the same. Cost can depend on the lock type, door, hardware, number of openings, keying requirements and whether replacement parts are needed.
Rekeying one office cylinder is a different job from working on multiple storefront doors or setting up a master key system. Call (757) 000-0000 and describe the property and service needed so I can understand the job before quoting the appropriate service.
Mobile Service
Commercial locksmith work is performed at the customer's business or managed property. I bring the tools and equipment needed for the scheduled service rather than asking customers to visit a locksmith shop.
I serve Virginia Beach and selected nearby Hampton Roads communities, including Norfolk and Chesapeake. Availability depends on the property location, travel time and the commercial locksmith work needed.
Call (757) 000-0000 and tell me where the business is located and what you need help with.
